Drug Safety Consultant
Ennis qualified from Westminster Medical School in London in 1979 and worked in the National Health Service for 5 years in general medicine and medical oncology. She joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1984 and worked for a number of large pharmaceutical companies in clinical development and medical affairs.
In 1995 Ennis joined the Post-Licensing Division of the Medicines Control Agency (now MHRA) in pharmacovigilance. She became the Group Manager for Pharmacovigilance and was the UK delegate to the Pharmacovigilance Working Party of the Committee Human Medicinal Products.
Ennis moved back to the pharmaceutical industry in 2000, specialising in early development for Vernalis and then J&J Pharma from 2001. She then worked in the Regulatory group of J&J Pharma before becoming the EU QPPV and VP in Global Medical Safety in 2007. In this role Ennis was responsible for the oversight of pharmacovigilance activities, including the introduction of new EU PV legislation and the Pharmacovigilance System Master File. Ennis was also a member of the Efpia Pharmacovigilance Working Group until she took retirement from J&J Pharma in July 2013. Ennis now works as an independent pharmaceutical consultant.
